April Things to Do – Social Distancing Edition!

This month’s “Activity and Events” post is unlike anything we’ve ever done before. It’s likely that none of us have ever lived through a period of bans and quarantining like we are now. For a social people, this is a huge challenge! With schools closing and kids quarantined with us, it complicates things even further. Children’s Book Fair (Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Austin) – Join in on this free literary adventure and meet popular children’s book authors and illustrators, and enjoy story time and activities.

First Thursday in Austin (South Congress Ave., Austin) – One big block party, perfect for all ages. Businesses go all out for this event with sales, drink specials, and discounts.

Celtic Fest (San Marcos Activity Center) – The San Marcos Celtic Festival is a free celebration of St. Brigid’s day which is considered the first day of spring in Ireland. This family-friendly festival will feature traditional Irish and Celtic music, arts and crafts, and more!


Jugglefest (Navarro High School, Austin) – Now in its 27″ year, this fest features juggling, unicycling, and circus arts. All are welcome to come and learn some new tricks or to simply enjoy the show.
